Directions to Abacoa Golf Club

Get on US1 South at the north end of South Hutchinson Island and travel south for about 2 miles. You will see a K-Mart and a Chevron gas station on your right. Make a right turn onto Virginia Ave (aka Route 70) just past the Chevron Station. Follow Route 70 for about 4 miles until you come to I-95. Get on I-95 South and get off at Exit #83. Then follow Donald Ross Road east exactly 6-tenths of a mile. You will have already passed 1 stop light but there will be no stoplight at this intersection. There will be a large tan colored entrance to Abacoa on your left. Make that left turn and proceed north on Parkside Drive exactly 1/2 mile to Barbados Drive on your left. Turn left onto Barbados and the clubhouse will be immediately on your left. (About 60 minutes from Ocean Village.) (561)662-0036

An alternate route to get to the course is as follows: (This is intended for people coming from South Hutchinson Island only.) Get on Route A1A South and follow it all of the way off of the island. You will cross over 2 causeways/bridges at the south end of the island. The first one will take you over Indian River and you will be on a peninsula called Sewell's Point. The second bridge (a very large one) will take you across the Saint Lucie River. At the very first stoplight when you cross the Saint Lucie River make a left turn onto St. Lucie Boulevard. Follow this road (south) about 2 miles until it comes to a 'T'. Make a right at the 'T' and follow that road (west) about 2 more miles. It will cross over Dixie Highway (A1A) and will also cross over US1. Stay straight ahead, don't make any turns. Once you cross over US1 this road will become known as Indian Street. Follow Indian Street until it comes to another 'T'. Make a left at that 'T' and you will be on Route 76 West. Follow Route 76 West for about 3 1/2 miles and you will eventually come to I-95. Get on I-95 South and get off at Exit 83.

This alternate route of getting to I-95 is an important one to memorize for anyone who is traveling from South Hutchinson Island to any southern points like West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale or Miami (via I-95). This route is the quickest way by far to get to/from any of those airports using the Route 76 Exit (Exit #101) of I-95.

A view of the dog-leg left Par-5 #2 hole at Abacoa from behind the green.

Plenty of dog-legs built into the Abacoa course. This is the medium length Par-4 #7 hole one of a few that will give you a short iron to the green with a decent drive from the tee.

This is the #11 green, the shortest Par-4 on the course.

The #17 Hole at Abacoa with a view towards the 18th tee.  Abacoa is probably one of the most scenic courses on the Treasure Coast and a very well kept golf course.   Its green fees can be well in excess of $80 in-season, but this course can be played with the South PGA Golfpass for as little as $23 in the summer.  That price for this type of course is a real bargain.
